Hypertrophy (Muscle Building)
Hypertrophy-Specific Training (HST) is a method of training designed to quickly and effectively stimulate whole body muscle growth. “Muscle mass” “muscle growth” and “bulking up” are all phrases that are commonly used by gym goers but all equate to the same thing.
For muscle growth to occur we need to create the perfect environment within the body. To build lean muscle mass we must consider the below points:
• Have an excess consumption of correct calories,
• To increase anabolic hormones whilst reducing catabolic hormones,
• To increase protein and nutrient turnover,
• Learn how to recruit as many muscle fibres as possible in a workout,
Increasing lean muscle mass is a common demand from many of Omar’s clients both male and female. This can have a positive effect on overall strength and physical changes to the body. Hypertrophy requires a long term strategy in order to ensure progression over time. A client must be assessed and provided with the correct intensity and volume of training in order to see the best progression with their program.
